| Project Features:
This is Standalone Pumped Storage Project having IC 1800 MW. The peak operation duration shall be 6 hrs.The Gandikota Pumped Storage Project will comprise of two reservoirs. The existing Gandikota reservoir will be the lower reservoir and a new reservoir is to be constructed on the hilltop with low height dam of maximum height around 28.0m to create the desired storage capacity for energy storage and discharge. Lower dam is utilized for Irrigation, Drinking water and fisheries purpose. Evaporation losses if any will be recouped periodically from the existing Gandikota reservoir. |
