SCOPE OF SERVICES:

Review of contractor’s design, Supervision of construction of Civil, Hydro Mechanical/ Electromechanical works. Supervision of manufacture of equipment, Management of contractor’s claims, Assurance of Quality control.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The J&K State Power Development Corporation intends to implement 12 MW Karnah Hydro Electric Project under Prime Minister’s Development Package -2015 (PMDP-2015) in Jammu and Kashmir State. The Karnah Hydroelectric Power Project (12 MW) with Installed capacity of 3×4 MW is situated at the stream named Quazi Nag at the Basin of Kishan Ganga near village Khudri in Tehsil- Karnah, District-Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir corresponding to a design discharge of 13.47 cumecs and design head of 98.58 m.

PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS:

  • 3 no. Horizontal Francis Turbine of each 4 MW capacity (3 x 4 MW)
  • Open Trapezoidal Lined Canal Feeder Channel with design discharge of 13.47 cumecs and 100 m long; Trench weir of length 31.5 m
  • Number of Intake gate (Vertical lift gate) are 2 of size (2.5 m x 2.6 m)
  •  De-silting Chamber of length (36 m x24 m)
  • Free Flowing Pipe Type Water Conductor System of 235.75 m
  • Fore bay, Intake pool; 3 Nos. of Penstock 175 m long
  • Powerhouse of size (47.5 m x 18.4 m x 20.75 m)
  • Tail Race Tunnel of length 86.55m with minimum tail water level of 1413.26
