| PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Dengser Hydro Electric Project is located in upper reaches of Subansiri River, Arunachal Pradesh. The average river bed level at the dam site is about EL. 531 m and FRL at the dam has been proposed at EL. 620 m. The Project will utilize a gross head of 126.63 m and design discharge of 470.90 cumecs for generation of 520 MW. Dengser H.E Project envisages of 121.19 m high concrete gravity dam with 2 Nos. of 11 m diameter diversion tunnels as diversion structure, 2Nos of power intake with trash rack arrangement, 2 Nos. of 5.11 km & 4.96 km long 9.20 m diameter head race tunnel, 2 Nos. of 25.0 m diameter surge shaft & 50 m high & 2 Nos. of 8.10 m diameter steel lined pressure shaft each of 324 m & 264 m in length which include penstock of dia. 4.57 m on bifurcation. Underground power house housing4 units of 130 MW each. Design Energy is 1986.92 MU in 90% dependable year. |

The proposed project site is 335 km away from Dibrugarh which is nearest airport. The barrage site is located upstream of confluence of River Lohit & River Dau and surface Powerhouse is located on right bank of Lohit River at about 70 m downstream of the barrage. The average river bed level at the dam site is about EL 550.00 m and FRL at the dam has been proposed at EL 580.00 m. The project consist of 30.0 m high barrage of length 415 m, 7 nos. of 7 m dia. penstocks of length of about 50 m, surface powerhouse having 7 units of 38.5 MW. The project would generate 1146 MU in 90% dependable year. |

The Project is a run of river/storage type Hydroelectric Project on confluence of Emra & Tangon river in Dibang River, Arunachal Pradesh. AEMPL was involved in preparation of various alternatives at Pre-feasibility stage and from which one alternative is considered which is cost-effective and techno-economically layout. The project consists of gravity dam of height 113 m and of length 256 m across River Subansiri where the river bed elevation is EL. 594 m. The water for power generation is conveyed through a steel pressure shaft of 7 m diameter which further bifurcates to feed the units in the underground power house. The underground power house is situated in the left bank of River Emra and measures79 m (l) x 14 m (w) x 15.5 m (h). The underground power houses 3 vertical axis Francis turbines to generate 315 MW. The design energy in the calculated to be 1491.59 MU. |

Retired Chief Engineering from Central Water Commission and served in the Commission for nearly 35 years from 1976 to 2011.
He has more than 49 years of experience in management of various activities related to Planning, Preparation and Review of Feasibility study Report, Detailed Project Report, EPC Documents & Construction supervision as Owner’s Engineer including cost vetting and checking of tariff policies for both conventional and pumped storage hydro-electric projects. He has handled more than 40 no. of power projects during his working tenure.
He has published more than 20 numbers of technical papers in different national and international Journals / seminars, and having in his credit more than 100 nos. of technical reports/documents.
He has received a number of Merit Certificates and awards for his contribution for the development of Hydropower projects in India & Bhutan.
He is an active member of Indian Geo-technical Society (IGS) and Indian society of Rock Mechanics & Tunnelling Technology (ISRMTT).

- Mr. C.S. Mathur, Dam Design Expert
Retired Chief Engineering from Central Water Commission and served in the Commission for nearly 35 years from 1975 to 1996 and 1998 to 2011. He has more than 50 years of experience in Planning & Design of Concrete/Masonry Dams, Spillways, Energy Dissipaters and other appurtenant structures. Other areas of expertise include Hydrological Studies for projects; Designs of Earth and Rock fill dams, Barrages, Water Conductor Systems, Tunnels etc.; Investigations and Preparation of DPR for projects; Dam Safety Issues.

- Mr. Rajeev Sachdeva, Hydropower/PSP/Hydraulics/Tunnels/Underground Structures Design Expert
Retired as General Manager from NHPC Limited, he has more than 39 years of experience in planning, detailed engineering designs, Review of Designs and construction drawings and construction supervision of various hydro-electric projects/Pumped Storage Plants involving dams (small, medium and high), spillways, Head race tunnels, Surge shafts, Pressure shafts and power houses (both underground and surface) etc. Hydraulic and structural designs (including review) for surface/ underground works comprising Barrage, Dam, Desander Basin, HRT, Surge shaft, pressure shaft/penstock and powerhouse (Both Surface and Underground) conforming to various international standards.

Retired Member (D&R) from Central Water Commission and served in the Commission from 1988 to 2024.He has more than 36 years of experience with a demonstrated history of working in the Central Water Commission. Served in North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCo) for nearly 15 years from 1991 to 2006.
He has more than 34 years of experience having technical, commercial and financial responsibilities under power projects comprising overall Project Management; Manpower management and HR/IR matters; Operation and Maintenance of power projects and associated transmission lines; Fixation of Tariff and approval of the Central / State Electricity Regulatory Commission; Planning for New Projects; Financial Closure for new projects; Contract Management and arbitration along with claim management, risk assessment and management, litigation management, resolving disputes in reduced time and saving money, quantification and apportionment of cost, etc.; He has also has problem solving skill developed over his tenure which he easily communicates over to the team that he works with his excellent communication techniques. He has more than 34 years of experience in project identification, planning, analysis, geo-technical investigations, DPR and construction stage design of hydropower, irrigation and water supply projects covering embankment and gravity dams, barrages, diversion & outlet structures. power Intake, surface and underground desilting chambers, cut and cover conduits, tunnels, surge shaft, penstocks, cross drainage works like aqua-duct, bridges etc. During his tenure, he is involved as Team Leader under various projects with leadership skills and clients’ handling skills.

He has more than 34 years of experience in Review and monitoring of site activities of various civil works of the hydro project. Interfacing field / site activities between project team and Head Office, including involvement in planning and scheduling of project activities. - Mr. Rajeev Baboota,Hydrology Expert
He has more than 39 years of experience in HEPs and PSPs, with extensive expertise in hydrological and hydro-meteorological studies for detailed design, including river discharge analysis, sediment and silt studies, design flood estimation, flood forecasting, dam break analysis, hydraulic and mathematical modelling, and meteorological assessments. He is experienced in hydro-meteorological data collection, real-time hourly data recording, reservoir and dam operation monitoring, and integration of Automatic Weather Station data, and is proficient in implementing ISO 9001–compliant hydrology data management systems to ensure accurate, standardized, and reliable project data.

He has over 40 years of extensive experience in the hydropower sector. He served with NHPC Ltd. from 1985 to 2021, retiring as General Manager (Civil Design), and has subsequently worked as a consultant with reputed organizations. His experience spans design, review, and execution of large-scale hydroelectric projects including Ratle, Parbati-II, Lower Subansiri, and Dhauliganga. He has undergone specialized training in machine foundation design, dynamic analysis of dams, tunnel analysis, and advanced structural analysis using international software. He has also gained international exposure through training programs in France and Switzerland and has consistently contributed to the successful delivery of complex hydropower projects.

- Mr. Dayalan Kadirvelu,Sr. Structural Engineer
He has more than 17 years of experience in civil and structural design, quality assurance and cost estimation. He has experience in concrete and steel structure designs, supports and foundations, and other heavy equipment support. Responsibilities include layout, analysis and design, review, coordination and field inspection of projects. Having good exposure to Indian codes of Practices and American codes. Computer modelling (2D/3D) of structure and analysis using STAAD-Pro. Performing seismic and wind analysis. Understanding and reviewing designs for tower foundations, control room building designs, switchyard structures, switchyard equipment, roads, rafts, DG foundations and steel building designs. He has experience in concrete and steel structure designs, supports and foundations, and other heavy equipment support. Responsibilities include layout, analysis and design, review, coordination, and field inspection of projects. Having good exposure to Indian codes of Practices and American codes. Computer modelling (2D/3D) for performing stability analysis comprising seismic consideration of slope and underground excavations and the design of support systems. Has been working independently in delivering projects on schedule with success. Review of drawings for equipment regarding civil design and detailing implications submitted by vendor. - Mr. Imran Sayeed, Geology Expert
Retired Chief General Manager (Geotech) from National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC) and served the same organization for nearly 34 years from 1985 to 2019. Thereafter worked as Independent Consultant and worked for hydro projects in India and Nepal, infrastructure projects in H.P. between 2019 and 2022. Has been member of Sectional Committee WRD 5 and CED 48 for Bureau of Indian Standards. He has more than 40 years of experience in planning, execution and supervision of all surface and subsurface investigations, identification and delineation of critical geological features affecting projects, optimization of project layout based on geological findings, rock mass characterization and geotechnical inputs in detailed design of project components. He has worked on reserve estimation in quarries and burrow areas and quality evaluation for construction materials including concrete aggregates, rock fill and impervious soil. Lab and in-situ soil and rock mechanic tests, interactions and obtaining TEC form regulatory bodies, geological inputs and coordination for studies for seismic design parameters and obtained clearances from NCSDP. He has construction supervision and geological/geotechnical monitoring experience in large hydropower projects.

- Mr. S.K. Tripathi, Geology Expert
Retired Additional Director General (ADG) & HoD from Geological Survey of India (GSI) and served in the department for nearly 34 years from 1985 to 2019. He has more than 39 years of experience in planning, execution and supervision of all surface & subsurface investigations; identification and delineation of wide shear zones along the right bank/abutment, optimization of project layout; geological & geotechnical inputs for optimizing design; identification, reserve estimation of quarry & borrow areas for wearing & non wearing surface aggregates; Lab & in situ rock mechanics tests; Geological inputs for ascertaining Seismic Design Parameters and obtained clearance from National Committee on Seismic Design Parameters

- Mr. Yogendra Singh Yadav,Sr. Geologist
He has more than 20 years of experience in detailed Geological and Geotechnical studies of projects. Served as an Assistant Manager in National Hydro Electric Power Corporation Private Limited, Government of India Hydropower Board and served for nearly 7 years from 2001 to 2007. He has more than 24 years of experience in planning & design engineering, contract management, client interaction and coordination with the design team for execution of electro-mechanical works of hydro power projects. He has experience in preparation of pre-feasibility/feasibility study reports, detail project reports, technical specification, tendering and bid evaluation, financial analysis, inspection & quality assurance, scrutiny of drawings and documents at detailed engineering stage, SWOT analysis, preparation of skill-matrix and financial proposal

- Mr. Shashank Hariharan, E-BOP/Control & Protection Expert
He has more than 20 years of experience in Planning, Designing, scheduling, preparation of detailed project report along with cost estimation, vendor management, preparation of construction / erection / commissioning schedule for electro-mechanical components under Hydro Electric Projects, responsible to carry out designs, estimation and scheduling of SCADA and automation related works, review of electro-mechanical and electrical components under the assignment along with checking and revision of BoQ, vendor management, cost evaluation, rate analysis and cost estimation. He is also responsible for delivering the project and analysis of tariff policy to be adopted.

- Mr. Akib Alam,E-BoP, Control & Protection Engineer
He has more than 11 years of comprehensive experience in electrical design engineering, erection, and commissioning of hydro power plants and control systems. Proven expertise in preparation of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), powerhouse and switchyard layouts for hydro power plants. Responsibilities covered equipment and component sizing, cable scheduling, load estimation, I/O list preparation, and development of technical specifications. Involved in engineering and review of Electrical Balance of Plant (EBOP) items, along with design drawings and schematic controls in accordance with project requirements. Experience also includes conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for generators, power and auxiliary transformers, DC systems, MV/HV/LV panels, control and protection panels, CWS and D&D systems, and NGT panels. Proven ability to resolve site-related issues during erection and commissioning phases of hydroelectric projects. Familiar with DEIF controllers, SCADA integration, and preparation of as-built documentation. Demonstrated capability in coordinating with clients, consultants, and vendors for successful execution of EPC and design-built projects.

- Mr. J.K. Khatri,Turbine Layout and MBoP Expert
Retired as Chief Engineer from Hydro Engineering & Technology Development Division in the Central Electricity Authority, Ministry of Power, Government of India and served for nearly 33 years from 1978 to 2011.
He had worked in between as Deputy Director in Hydro Construction Monitoring Division for 2 years; in Eastern Regional Power Committee, Kolkata as Superintending Engineer (Commercial) for 1 year and at Tala Hydro Electric Project, Bhutan as Superintending Engineer (O&M) for 2 years.
Since last 49 years, he has been associated with design & engineering assignments of all kinds of hydro power projects – be it surface or underground project or a pumped storage scheme involving variety of hydro turbines such as Francis, Kaplan, Pelton, Bulb, Tubular and Reversible Pump-Turbines in various sizes ranging from small hydro to large hydro projects in India, Bhutan, Afghanistan and Nepal.

- Mr. Shiban Krishan Kaul, Generator, Layouts & E-BOP Expert
Retired Chief Engineer from Central Electricity Authority, Ministry of Power, Government of India and served for nearly 33 years from 1979 to 2012.
He has more than 46 years of experience in the electro-mechanical design and engineering of hydroelectric projects, covering all types of switchgears, switchyards, electrical protections, and plant control. His responsibilities include the preparation of specifications, drawings, bid evaluations, and the vetting of manufacturer’s drawings and methodologies. He conducts site visits, provides on-the-spot technical advice, and manages contracts. He coordinates with ministry officers and other stakeholders, participating in meetings to identify and resolve issues hindering project implementation. He has also been involved in initiatives to fast-track hydro project implementation, addressing stalled or stressed projects, developing pumped storage, and integrating renewable power with the grid. Additionally, he has suggested modifications in bid stipulations to increase vendor participation and addressed issues related to milestone-based payments.

Retired Additional General Manager from BHEL, and served for nearly 29 years from 1978 to 2007, He has more than 47 years of experience in looking after basic and detail design of Turbines, Valves, mechanical balance of plant and Renovation, Modernization and Uprating of Hydro-Electric and Pumped Storage Hydro projects. Also worked for developing standard designs for mini hydro and Irrigation pumps. Led design of more than 100 static & rotary parts of turbines and auxiliary systems across 100 Hydro Power Stations

- Mr. Sriram R.,Control & Protection System Expert
Retired General Manager & Unit Head from BHEL and served for nearly 38 years from 1979 to 2017. He has more than 47 years of experience in Design and Development of Distributed control systems/C&I for a wide range/ratings of Hydroelectric power plants, Digital governors, HMI systems. Responsible for project/product engineering more than 100 projects in India and abroad. He has served as a Top-Level Expert at WAPCOS for Punatsangchu-1 and 2 in Bhutan, and as a Consultant at QUEST Limited, conducting third-party inspections for defense projects. His tenure at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited spanned over three decades, where he held various leadership roles and managed over 100 hydro control engineering projects. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and holds several patents in hydro plant optimization and control systems

He has more than 40 years of experience in project identification, planning, analysis, geo-technical investigations, DPR and construction stage design of hydropower, irrigation and water supply projects covering embankment and gravity dams, barrages, diversion & outlet structures. power Intake, surface and underground desilting chambers, cut and cover conduits, tunnels, surge shaft, penstocks, cross drainage works like aqua-duct, bridges etc. During his tenure, he is involved as Team Leader under various projects with leadership skills and clients’ handling skills. He has been involved in more than 45 nos. of hydro power projects including Renovation, Modernization, Life extension and Uprating of hydro power projects

PUMPED STORAGE HYDRO PROJECTS
- Aquagreen Engineering Management is engaged in identifying the Pumped Storage Hydro Sites for the renowned Developers / IPPs (Clients) and hand hold them for site visits and preparation of Pre-Feasibility Report in getting the MoU signed from the respective States along with DPR preparation.
- So far, we have identified more than 80 nos. PSHP locations collectively across India and Oman with capacities ranging from 100 MW to 10,000 MW.

- Malana II Hydro Electric Project (100 MW) in Himachal Pradesh, India wherein the HRT and 600 m height steel pressure shaft was rectified, and the plant was successfully commissioned.
- Sorang Hydro Electric Project (100 MW) in Himachal Pradesh, India whose surface penstock is currently under rectification based on the revised design provided by Aquagreen Engineering Management
- Kameng Hydro Electric Project (600 MW) in Arunachal Pradesh, India wherein the both the penstocks of the project were rectified based on our rectification methodology recommended after leakages were reported during initial filling
- HPPCL’s of Integrated Kashang HEP in Himachal Pradesh wherein we provided the design solutions for rectification of steel lined pressure shaft
- AEMPL has successfully reviewed the feasibility study report of Ayago Hydro Power Project (680 MW) as part of the scope of services of Owner’s Engineer of the project. The review resulted in revision of installed capacity of the project from 680 MW to 840 MW. MEMO owner of project has approved the revised capacity.
